Frequently Answered Questions ... yep - you read that right ...

INKS

We only Supply and use Water-Based Inks. They're safe around kids, pets and in your house or studio. Plastisol and other Petrochemical-based inks are illegal for toddlers and lingerie - when I worked that out - I started hearing about plastic emissions and skin absorption sweating in gyms and while sleeping ... We'll never put someone's health at risk for the sake of a Tee.

WASH-UP

Water-based inks allow you to wash up in water - However, be careful if you are using a shower as some inks will stain grout.

If you leave your ink in the screen and it dries - it may well be ruined and no longer usable. So when you're finished, make sure it's washed up properly - Whether you do it yourself or pay someone $5 to wash it for you.

SCREENS

The biggest complication to screens was people coating, drying and exposing screens.
We can teach you this OR we can do it as a service.
So, we do the bits you don't want to, so you can do the parts of the process that suits your place. And we do this service via courier / mail or pick-up. Supplying 43T, 62T and 90T Screens to cover all levels of detail, they can come:

- Blank for you to coat and shoot yourself

- Black-bagged, already coated in emulsion and ready to expose

- Pre-exposed. We'll do everything, and it comes to you ready to print

SCREEN RE-CYCLE

All screens last for multiple designs. We've had screens that have literally had 50 different images exposed, printed, removed and repeated over the course of their lifetime.

Therefore, yes you can send a 'clean (meaning ink washed out)' screen to us and we can strip the image out and put in a new image and send it back to you.

DELIVERY

Straight up, we'll deliver anywhere - No matter the task. We charge a $15 AUD Flat rate for Deliveries on the East Coast of Australia, and quote everywhere else - International is tricky but you wouldn't be the first we've done.

How it's delivered? Mostly through Sendle which is a portal that uses several couriers and are great with most addresses. However, we have had a few remote communities and National Parks etc where the commercial delivery guys don't get it - so we will use Australia Post for those.

Alternatively, you can pick-up at our studio in Belmore, NSW.

CLASSES

We've taught a lot - Now branching out into illustration and design, poster and yardage classes. We're currently running one Beginner Print Class on the 1st Saturday of every month for anyone to join, along with a host of other Specialty Classes with more coming soon...

In the future, we will be providing online classes but are still working on it.

PRINT MACHINES

We started with the Imprint steel base, and now produce the 5th Generation all wood Imprinter which is lighter and structurally stronger.

We not really sure what to call them, they're not really a machine, with no engine or moving parts. It's not really an apparatus as it doesn't interact although it facilitates as an apparatus with unison between the squeegee, screen and human. We're thinking it's a print bed - mostly as we've also invented 'Print beds' using the same registration systems etc as the IMPRINT except there's a Unique 'Print bed' for Tea Towels, A1 posters and yardage printing and other Textiles.

And yeah, it's our invention. Co-designed by Stephen Woods and Seaton McKeon, we have design protections and Patents across Australia, N.Z., U.S. and Europe. Basically Steve created the idea after breaking machines in classes and endlessly having to fix stuff. So it came about as a registration system that had no moving parts, springs or hinges - so there was nothing to break. Seaton then came in and made it work - made it smarter and actually created the art form you know today. With the intention of inspiring generations and generations of people exploring their art and hand skills and making products as opposed to losing hand skills. One of it's many attributes is they're designed to be portable as well - you can literally carry them like a brief case or put it under your bed - compact, practical, portable and lightweight.

I like to joke around and say you can kill a horse with it but I love horses, so I've amended it to 'You can do serious damage to luxury cars with it'. It's also good as a coffee table, boogie board or shield.

EXHIBITIONS

I think they are the lifeblood of creative communities and a chance for you to put forward your best work and sometimes exhibit with others which is the real gift. So we do a few and encourage all. Look out for them!

COMMUNITY TYPE EVENTS

We designed our machines so many small organisations could do their own prints ... but apart from that we try to help people that are doing other community initiatives ... tell us what you are up to ... we always try to help legitimate causes doing good.

PRINT FACILITIES ACCESS

Rule one is that the machines are made so your kitchen or design studio is now your print club. The thing that makes a 'Print Club' work is you and three mates in your kitchen. This stuff only works when there is a crowd - it's a crew thing. Someone designs, someone prints, someone opens the beers or get's coffee or makes scones or whatever. 'Always a crew'.

One of the all time legends of screen print in my eyes is Brandy Flowers from 'The Hit and Run' in Los Angeles - he means it when he says ' Crew runs deep'.
